A turning point, an appreciation, and some musings on “soul work”

Big party at Trellis yesterday has me a bit altered-state on this cold quiet Sunday morning.  See a few photos of me as an Avatar and Rebekah as Lady Gaga. 

Party was super-fun and yet… do you ever experience people as just plain difficult… do you crave human interaction and yet resist it at the same time? 

This is what I call “soul-work”: the tension that I (and most everyone, according to Thomas Moore and Saniel Bonder) feels between our need for complete mastery and self-transcendence, and the compulsion we have to enter the messy, complicated, mysterious and dangerous worlds of other human beings, and of what shows up for us in relationship to them…
